Tiger Love: A Tribute to the Dog that Rescued Me..
There's a Tiger in my bed,
With teeth and claws intact.
Snuggled oh-so-close,
She's spooning me, in fact!
Thirteen years she's had my back,
Thirteen years she's had my heart,
I owe her more than words can say,
When she's gone - I'll fall apart!
Don't let her name mislead you,
A bengal she is not.
Her name speaks of survival,
Her nursing mother had been shot!
The hue and cry came loud and clear,
Thirteen pups found freezing cold.
Huddled round their mother dead,
Shivering uncontrolled!
Their lives still in the balance,
A shelter with little space!
These pups need a home TODAY,
Or death is what they'll face!
My son and I speed out the door,
Righteous anger in our hearts.
Cruelty towards innocent babes,
Seems to be spiraling off the charts!
We finally spied our Tiger,
Looked deep in soulful eyes.
Not the prettiest of the bunch,
But gentle, sweet, and wise!
Now thirteen years and counting,
Please don't say I saved her life.
Truth is - can't live without her,
Were she a man - I'd be a proud wife!
Hopefully Not The End...
