President Obama: May I be the First to Congratulate You on Your Second Term in Office!
68The Republican's 'party' is SO over - I can almost hear Sarah Palin singing now!
And, is that the first strains of "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" I hear? "Papa would do whatever he could, preach a little gospel - sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good"
Why yes - indeed it is!
First it was Eenie followed by Meenie. Then it was Miney. And now - it's MO - er, MITT!
First there was Cain. Then Newtie. Then Mitt. Then Newtie again with Mitt hot on his heels. And now - Rick Santorum takes three states in the primaries?
Now, everybody knows that Missouri, Minnesota, and Colorado don't add up to a hill of beans in the big, political picture, but - what is becoming crystal clear is how frustrated and dissatisfied the conservative voters are with the sorry, sad lot of tramps and thieves before them! Their flip-flopping all over the board indicates that they cannot - or will not - choose a front-runner - as there isn't a qualified or trustworthy one in the bunch!
It's the same as asking a zoo animal to run the jungle! It's the same as asking a clown to run the circus!
Except that we're talking about running an entire country here, folks! The US of A, no less!
Does this scare the 'living' b'jezus out of anyone else?
The Republican ticket of liars, cheaters, tramps, and thieves has virtually guaranteed that this 'party' is as good as over - and I'd like to be the first to extend my not-so-heartfelt congratulations to President Barrack Hussein Obama - on his second term in office!
Sigh...
It is fascinating - in a self-mutilational sort of way - to watch this cast of caricatures continue their desperate, deceptive, and degrading efforts to scrape, scratch, screw, and (back)stab their way into the Oval Office.
A place they must know they don't belong! Not that that small nagging detail would stop them! Shame and modesty are definitely not on the ticket this year:
- While touting family values they cheat on their spouses.
- While cheating on their spouses they indignantly deny it to the voting public.
- While claiming to be 'god-fearing' they 'jokingly' blame natural disasters on bad voting policy!
- While claiming to be conservative they make $10,000.00 bets, wear $1,500.00 suits, and spend a half a million dollars at Tiffany's!
- While claiming to care about all citizens they mistakenly admit to 'not caring' about the poor, and think that working children is a good 'fix' for the economy.
- While claiming to know how best to fix the economy they want to cut social security and old age pensions, but do not want to increase taxes for corporations or the very wealthy.
- While claiming freedom for all they want to 'regulate' homosexual activity, repeal Roe vs. Wade and reverse any progress made towards health care for all.
- While claiming to know how best to restructure the tax burden - they themselves pay 14% income tax!
I repeat: President Obama - May I be the first to congratulate you on your second term in office!
Sigh..

.....are you not the same people that quickly came to defend Clinton and Kennedy over their cheating ways?
Its Ok to be a liberal, but since when are people not human and make human mistakes? You call us hypocrites yet care nothing about the MILLIONS Obama has spent vacationing on the tax payers money, but you ridicule a man placing a bet with his own money? You believe people should pay more than 14% on their investments? The man paid the same as you and I when he made the money to invest in the first place! I say he should pay NO TAXES on investments! That is nothing more than a double dip by our government! It is called capital gains not withholding tax!
all points taken don't forget the daycare cost when at Tiffanys lol
Gutsy hub! I think you may be right!vote up
I couldn't have said it better myself. I have never seen such a bunch of social misfits and zealots all running at the same time.
I think American Romance lives by the motto: Rich people paying rich people to tell middle class people to blame poor people. Yup, I think I summed it up pretty good. What do you think ImKarn23?
You got balls woman! Nice article :)
Let me be the first to talk to a sheep.
Can the country really survive four more of these kind of years.
baaaahhh
I couldn't agree more...so I won't! lol. And btw...I think they're all Mo's! These are the best politicians they could come up with? really? How sad. I think we should start over and try a REAL democracy. You know...politicians who would actually give a shit for a change, that aren't in soooo many lobbyists pockets. Or perhaps a four year dictatorship so a brother (and I use that term loosely)could possibly fix some of the problems w/o all the two-party partisan bs. Could it possibly be much worse? I doubt it! Great read btw. Hub on!
You know how to make me laugh, Leslie! Just Tweeted and FB'd it. Even sent a copy to my old editor/mentor. Now THIS is writing, and wouldn't most people agree they need their bad news with a huge dose of humor in order to digest it. Probiotics are required after this one. We all know what a farce we are witnessing. You hit all the fine points and delivered. My greatest compliment is to say that this article is quite Carlinesque. And that means it's exactly the right dose of humor while being totally truthful.
You're very welcome M'lady. And sure I can spare a shit. That's still free in this country....I think! Can't wait until they institute a "shit tax" as opposed to their usual "bullshit tax". shhhhhhhhh...don't give them any ideas!
Obama's got my vote.
...damn you're one fine writer - political or apolitical (which I am) ......and we all know by now what's gonna happen in November (for better or for worse) - and remember I am just a Canadian observer and for the record - 98% of what I write is fictional and I think my first person pronoun confuses a lot of people - by the way did you check out my hub buddy THE MAN WITHOUT PANTS - he's one righteous dude and without further adieu - this will be posted to my Facebook page with a direct link back here so they can read it and weep - or read it and rejoice.

I agree! They are going to have to reform themselves as an overall party if they ever want to be significant in the long term.
....well you have a fabulous sense of humor yourself my fellow Canadian - my name is Colin Stewart on FB with the same profile picture - just woke up here to tons of sunshine pouring down over my lake and it's a fabulous sight especially when drinking my first cup of coffee outside on my deck in the first week of February

I'm not quite into American politics, but I think Obama needs to be reelected.
By the way: pay no attention to Anerican Romance. None of the intelligent folks here do - I usually just delete his comments automatically.
Telling the truth about the GOP candidates is going to tick off all the right people here.. Hang in, they'll be gunning for you. They dislike smart people on principle and a smart woman is even worse.
ImKarn
I did read the article, and you believe that the GOP are distancing themselves from the voters through their messages.
Well it really doesn't matter who wins the presidency, or even which party wins in Congress. The problem is that we got here today from the tireless work of both parties over the last one hundred years. And their work has been accelerated over the last several decades.
It wasn't that I was calling sheep for this election, it was the voters that that have allowed the parties to manipulate them.
Incumbents have been ineffective, and the proof is looking at all the career politicians that have been in office for many decades. Some even die of old age, and that is reserved for the Supreme Court Justices.
While I am not a fan of either party, the democrats have done great harm in these past three plus years, and even in the four years prior.
The republicans have not done much when it was their turn either. So my point stands, neither party is the solution, and the voters are their sheep.
Incumbents should run only on their record, and candidates should make a contract with the voters that if they don't meet their election promises that they won't run for re-election. lol
I hope that clarifies my position.
Thanks
Oh - no! Please don't tell me you heard Sarah Palin SINGING!!! haha! Brilliant article. I'm glad Obama seems to be safe for another term.
By the way: that "commenter status" stuff only indicates how many comments we've made (it may be influenced by length also, I do not know) - nothing to do with quality. People can blabber mindlessly and achieve high levels.. it's just candy.
I agree with much of what you mention in this hub. However, there is one candidate in the Republican field who has principals and has never flipped flopped. The problem is that he doesn't get much mainstream attention, and the Republican party thinks he is a nutcase. I'm talking about Ron Paul. I agree with you that President Obama will end up winning a second term. The Republican party is heavily divided and are out of touch. Very nice hub. I enjoyed reading it.
Give her chocolates, give her sweets, give her positive reinforcement, but most of all, give her the looooovvvvveeee! :)
@ImKarn23, LOL! Yes I shared it on Twitter, Facebook, and I +1 it on Google.
Very well written!!! The Republicans are a confused bunch. I don't even think they can decide on a platform. They may as well back Obama themselves and end the frustration. :)
Remember when Clinton and Obama were battling each other for the Presidency? It also was not pretty. Hopefully when the Republican candidate is finally chosen, things will turn a little more serious instead of all of this bickering. It seems to get more and more nasty each year. With all of the money now being spent by PAC's it seems more out of control than ever. So much for election champaign reforms! Ugh!
As to politicians and their affairs...remember Clinton and Monica? The latest bit about Kennedy and the intern that has just gone public after so many years? Sad! No one party has an exclusive on philandering it seems.
Fortunately there are still some good men out there! I'm married to one. :))
BTW...we also slept with our dogs for many years! One was an oversized 95 pound Irish Setter! (This is in answer to your answer to one of my questions.) Smile!
Hilarious and horrifying too. I am now more hopeful because now I see there are many more than I thought that see through the gooey brown snow job of the Republicans. What a bunch of thoroughly contemptible excuses for human beings. And in the name of God, of all things. I hope He soon lets them know what He thinks of His reputation, and theirs too.
"Gutsy" is the word for you and this Hub. I admire your willingness to invite conflict. I am one of those who avoids it . . . I think Obama did as well as he could with the mess Bush left. He is bound to do amazing things in his second term.
I just heard them suggest Christie as a late entry - now THAT would be pretty funny!
Not that Obama's the best President we've ever had, but, anyone should be able to beat the carnival of fools the Republicans are trotting out. But, I think that is your point and you stated it well!
Voted way up!
It has been an embarassment to our country as well as the world at large to see our election process in action.Enough said, I need to go find a tree to hug! Once again you have made words dance across a page with energy...awesome!

ImKarn,
First of all, I usually do not "chime in" on hubs where the opinions differ from my own. I totally respect your hub and I will say that YOU are a fantastic writer. Very entertaining and well said...
My only thoughts as I read your hub was on that despite of just how much the liberal crowd despises the republican candidates....the bottom line is our economy.
No POTUS has been relected with such negative marks regarding the economy.
Lets just take a quick glance over the last 3 plus years....The unemployment rate when President Obama took office was 7.8%. It went up to 10%, and is now 8.3%...and that is questionable due to the actual number of those who no longer are signing up for unemployement, so in reality, it is probably much higher.....Gas prices when the president took office averaged $1.84 a gallon. It's now $3.79 a gallon....and he made remarks of high gas being GOOD for this country while running for office....so, I wonder where his head really is on this......and home values have gone down and more than 2.8 million foreclosures are under HIS watch...
so despite the liberal hype that is attacking the "charactor" of "sterotypical" republican...American VOTES with thier wallets...and thier wallets has been under serious attack...
I think a premature congratulatory victory for Obama may be cautioned with my humble opinion.
Chris
IM,
I am late to the party as always. The best candidate to me was Jon Huntsman but the Republicans did not give him a chance because he was ambassador to Chins under Obama. He spoke up but was ignored by Obama administration on several issues with China so Huntsman quit. Truly a shame,I think he would have been a good POTUS.
One could take all your bullet points above and insert a Democrats to fit the bill. Like the first two, John Edwards, Congressman Weiner, well they fit a lot more than just the first two bullet points LOL. Problem is it is rampant on both sides and what the country needs is a real leader to take control and put an end to the nonsense going on in Washington. Well written article.
Your writing is incredible, you are so gifted. Your belief in such fallacies.......sad. Now reply with some meaness towards me. I am a free thinking, explore the facts for myself independent. Do you simply overlook. Mr. Obamas lies or just take liberals at face value?.
Have a wonderful day. Peace.
@ImKarn23: Thank you for taking the time to reply. Your response is very refreshing, not just repeating ultra left responses. You m'lady are not only gifted with your wonderful writing, you are as equally gifted with a greater level of intelligence than a lot of people. You are so refreshing and I am quite possibly going to become a ImKarn23 groupie.
Thanks again.
PEACE
You really are a fantastic writer. I agree with many of your points. Above all, you are a fantastic writer. Great read!
I guess you see that Politics is a touchy subject. I admire your stand. Brave lady. You should run for office. I'd vote for you!
A so well written political issue...Hats off ! and I am for Obama always because in him , i noticed that there is less discrimination in other colors in US.
Hi, you did a nice job! You can swop all the names on this hub for British politians in office today and the outcome would be the same. They all cheat, all lie and don't give a toss about ordinary working people.
Man, your layout or hub structure sure won't get u past an essay test. But that sense of humour? Voted up and useful. And i just found another funny guy to follow
my lovely k,
you a liberal?
please say it isn't so
No more Obama, no , hell no.
If this is true you will make me blue
a republican I'm not
but you can't believe
that obama could only
cut us open to bleed
Great Hub! As a Canadian I don't really qualify to comment on US politics, but watching coverage of the Republican leadership you can't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it. That being said Canada has it share of political hilarity as well.

Interesting read - I like the last bit. It hits home. You are so right... It was so embarassing to hear those sex allegations against that man in the photo above... It got so hot, he couldn't run for the election anymore. If his hands were clean, he should have stood his ground.
(errh.... just saying, not implying. lol)
Great Article.
